Draft of my double page spread

Jackson is a natural she’s funny, smart, beautiful but she didn’t have it easy. She told Bass magazine ‘I don’t want to tell a sad back story to my life because I didn’t have it easy, we don’t have a lot of money I couldn’t afford singing lessons the only way I could be myself was on YouTube too my viewers’.
Many of us aspire to be like Lydia a creative pretty singer/songwriter that can write one song and get millions of views the next day. But who inspires Lydia? Lydia told us ‘I have many people I aspire to be like in different ways. My parents taught me not to lose myself if I get famous they always know best and I look up to them for that’. Lydia then went on to tell me about her other role models in her field. ‘Rihanna is the best her voice is stunning and her range;I could only die for’ Lydia tell us she I'll always looks up to Rihanna ‘her career is amazing but I will always be myself’ Lydia went on to tell us how she wants to be her own artist and make name that younger aspiring artist can look up too ‘it early days yet but I'm confident I can make it’.

Every artist has to start somewhere and I found that Lydia did genuinely start at the bottom. Lydia’s songs are very much guitar based songs she told us that her neighbour let her borrow her guitar when she was only 10! 6 years later she got her own for Christmas when she was telling us about her first guitar you could still see the excitement in her tone of voice Lydia said ‘When they gave me my first guitar I was like woahh for real? We didn’t have a lot of money so this was big deal; I mean my heart literally stopped, things like this just don’t happen to me.’ Lydia knew that by having her own guitar it was the turning point for her career. Living in London, it was a busy city and she decided to do some busking on the streets, ‘not the best job at 16 standing on the street in all weathers singing louder than the crowds to get a little attention but it was worth it’. Saturday’s and Sunday’s Lydia would wake up and make around £50 a day from her voice ‘this boosted my confidence loads’. She then made the decision to start up a YouTube Chanel ‘I only did it for fun as a hobby. I got a lot of hate from my school mates but I didn't listen all I wanted to do was sing and be the best I could be’ YouTube got big and I got bigger Jackson got up to 1 million subscribers in her first year and by 17 got her first contract. I got let down a lot but I learnt that ‘being nice gets you nowhere’. The big artist are labeled as divas but they actually get far in life.’ Lydia's interests weren't in being big just making music and having fun.
Lydia's album was released and on the Friday night it got top of the iTunes Charts the next day and by Sunday it was top of the official chart. We chatted for a while ‘Now let's get down to it your album ‘Oblivion’ it's truly amazing. You topped the charts in two days!’ I told Lydia as she replied with ‘oh my god I know, I wasn’t expecting it, my first album has broken records’

Time management update

This week I am on target for my double page spread. I need to write the articles for Fridays lessons and insert it into my page and then It will be complete. I am behind on last weeks contents page as I don't have my images for my contents page yet.

Prouduction Update

I have started to develop my contents page into more detail. I have done this by looking at the layout. I found their was too much empty space at the top which other magazine didn't have. By decreasing the size of the word contents it allowed me to shift everything up and this meant I had more room for text.
