Overall


From this questionnaire I have gathered that the overall look should come across as relatable to the audience using big fun writing. The price should be from £1.00 to £1.20 so it is affordable for students. The colours should be kept simple and too one colour that should go with the image and create a stable theme throughout the magazine. The magazine should be full of competitions and interesting articles that students can relate to. The pictures should suggest fun and connote an atmosphere that makes people feel happy and that’s how student life should be.

Initial Ideas

Initial ideas for student magazine

Central image
The main image will be filling the whole page. It will be a student looking happy and having fun with other friends.

Cover lines
The cover lines will be highlighted and in bold. The writing will give the magazine a warm feeling.

Text
This will be in a plain and simple font. It will be big but not distracting from the picture.

Masthead
This will cover the top of the page from left to right. It will be big and bold and a simple font and in a colour such as orange to create a warm feeling.

Overall look
The overall look will give it an exciting feeling it will create and an enjoyable feeling.

Mode of the address
This will be informal. I will use puffs that relate to my target audience so that they can really get involved in the magazine. I can relate to them directly including them in the magazine with words such a ‘us, you and ‘we’.

Colour scheme

This will be bright colours – this connotes happiness and gives an exciting mood to the magazine.

Task outline

For this task i have been asked to create a student magazine specifically the front cover and the the contents page.
Within the first week i will focus on research and planning. This will include analysis of magazines that are already produced also their target audience and planning for production.
Within the second week i am looking at the production and the photos for the main cover. I am going to design the front cover and contents page.
Week 3 I am going to design the contents page and start on my evaluation.
Throughout week 4 i am continuing with my evaluation of the task.
